Toshiba e-Studio507 Series Multifunction Printers

The Toshiba e-Studio507 series multifunction printers were designed for the small-to-mid-size business (SMBs) market. The new printer series builds on the success of the e-Studio307 by increasing the speed from 30 ppm to 50 ppm. The e-Series are a cut above the midsize office product and allow advanced functionality, like high volume toner output and monthly duty cycles. Also, instead of taking up tons of space, these Toshiba e-Studio MFPs have much more a compact design. They also come with two things that are gaining in popularity in the modern office: security and mobile printing features.

The Toshiba e-Studio507 series actually includes six “flavors” of multifunction products (MFPs), each of which varies in paper capacity and/or finishing features. A step up form the e-Studio307 MFPs, the new e-Series507 delivers a full 20 additional ppm, letting organizations and business take on larger volume jobs in addition to normal printing tasks. It also includes Bluetooth wireless printing. The toner cartridge of the e-Studio507 series can support yields of up to 36,600 monochrome copies per cartridge. Paper capacity is just as impressive, and you can configure the e-Series507 to hold up to 3,200 sheets of paper. Monthly capacity has the Toshiba e-Studio507 MFP outputting up to 150,000 prints per month.

“With the addition of the Toshiba e-Studio507 series to our lineup, we are providing small-to-mid-size organizations with feature-rich printing products in a footprint that works for them. Now they can have the same robust security and eco-conscious elements as our largest models.”

– Toshiba America Business Solutions Chief Marketing Executive, Bill Melo

Image quality is more or less identical to the other e-Studio models, with up to 2,400 x 600 dpi (dots-per-inch) resolution. Also Toshiba uses a proprietary 320 GB Self-Encrypting Drive (SED) to meet the U.S. Federal Information processing Standard 140-2, something (unfortunately) Yahoo must not have been using. It’s safe to say that anyone who is concerned about securing files during use (and after) will appreciate the system as it delivers some real security without forcing you to necessarily go out of house. If you’re working on government or healthcare-related documents, this may be a major feature you’ll appreciate. To prevent the actual copying of sensitive information, the MFPs also integrate a Hard Copy Security feature.

Portable and mobile printing haven’t been left off the table in these models. The new Toshiba e-Studio507 series MFPs allow cloud and mobile printing and scanning for both Apple and Android smartphones and tablets using the company’s e-BRIDGE Print & Capture software app.

The Toshiba e-Studio507 series has a starting retail price of $6,885.
